Special Features

The special features are few but intriguing.  Of particular interest is the film’s original theatrical trailer, which has a creepy looking Stephen King talking directly to the camera (saying that if he wanted his horror done right, he had to do it himself) all to music from John Carpenter rather than AC/DC oddly enough.  The implication is that with this film King had the chance to “do it right”: if this is the case, then the film is a sham and a wholehearted deflation of his own reputation.  Also included is an explanatory biography of King, quite extensive in its use of direct quotes to show how the author feels about his own creative collaborations and the movies made from his works.  Fans of this film should also note that it was remade over a decade later as a telemovie simply titled Trucks, which has also seen DVD release.
