Special Features
There is a modicum of special features. There are biographies of cast and crew, which appear as text on screen as they are read out by a narrator (a rare facet), and several pages of production notes, which are also narrated. At the end page of these notes is access to the film’s alternate ending (in fullscreen though, unlike the movie, which is in anamorphic widescreen). This alternate ending cannot be accessed on the menu screen and is only available thus at the conclusion of the production notes, making it easy to overlook if one is not aware of this beforehand. Although Millennium’s troublesome stress on beauty vs. ugliness suggests a possible comparison to director Anderson’s earlier Logan’s Run, there is no attention given to such potentially intriguing inter-textuality: without it though, Millennium has little to offer.
