Transgressor Disability Studies & Arts Range to Press Ahead from Basis in Canberra
*January 14th, 2010

Transgressionism in the association
between Disability & Transgender
Experience: Teri-Louise Kelly
Initially developed with Arts-SA grant money through the Richard Llewellyn Arts & Disability Trust program, the forthcoming e-book Always an Other? Representations of Disability in Australian Film, will be finalized April-May 2010 at the Australian National Film & Sound Archive in Canberra where author Robert Cettl will be based during a Scholars & Artists in Residence Fellowship.
The NFSA Fellowship involves the production of original documentary material on the subject, extracts of which will feature within embedded A-V files in the PDF or, to make file size and dowload time more manageable, hyperlinked to the same A-V material uploaded onto the WiderScreenings YouTube Channel. Pre-production on this material is underway, with production to begin during the Fellowship's access to the NFSA. The e-book is to be the first in a series of ebooks on the subject of Disability or written by authors who self-identify as being from within the broader disabled community. It is hoped that a book exploring the popular history of Australian Film as informed from a Disability Politics perspective will make for an informative and easy segue into the world of Disability Empowerent.
GAL-PUNK, DISABILITY ARTS
& OPIUM DREAM BEATNIKS
In pursuit of this, Transgressor has just signed a contract with transgender auteur and fellow Richard Llewellyn Arts & Disability Trust Grant recipient Teri-Louise Kelly. Ms. Kelly's recent work Girls Like Me (published in tree book form by Wakefield Press) has recently been accepted for electronic publication and is soon scheduled for Kindle release. Transgressor has acquired the worldwide electronic rights for Ms. Kelly's follow-up book of short story fiction, 50,000 Watts of Silence. Preliminary editorial and layout work has begun on this book. Ms. Kelly often performs at live venues and her recent spoken word performances have been filmed for exhibition on the WiderScreenings YouTube Channel alongside another Richard Llewellyn Grant Recipient Mel Kelly (aka Recyclopath). Recyclopath made a short film in association with Transgressor exploring disabled sexuality, prostitution and sexual explicitness as transgressive performance art: the film is currently being processed for exhibition on Transgressor's forthcoming video-on-demand network and a trailer for it exists on the Widerscreenings YouTube channel alongside a documentary interview and profile of Recyclopath's often confronting and shockingly explicit work.

Leading Self-Help E-Zine to Offer Themed Editions Cataloguing the most Important Personal Development Concepts
*January 11th, 2010
After zooming off to a smashing start on Twitter, gaining some 20,000 followers in just a few months, the web's leading free self-help e-zine No Limits is undergoing a radical change for the new year.
Initially launched as a PDF collection of eclectic articles by some of the leading authors in the field of success and personal development, No Limits recently changed its focus to concentrate on themed issues. Now, each issue will feature a topic of relevance to the New Age community - from forgiveness to time management to the purpose of life - with contributions by many authors whose works have been acquired and published by Transgressor as part of its venture into the self-help market (admittedly an unusual and spiritualist-heavy market for an atheist digital publisher to head into, something publisher Robert Cettl makes light of in the inaugural Transgressor e-catalogue).
Wider Screenings TM has a column in the weekly No Limits free e-zine and many titles from Transgressor's inaugural self-help / personal development range are advertised there for sale and download on new boutique e-vendor Inkstone Digital, with whom Transgressor has a temporarily exclusive e-book distribution arrangement. Thus, the Wider Screenings column will continue to review the latest cinema releases, as well as older classics, but will now do so from within the individual self-help themed discussion topic covered in each new No Limits issue. The column still features in every issue, with highlights added to the Wider Screenings' Self-Helping Cinema section linked to from the homepage.
